If you already have products listed in your QuickBooks account, you can configure your setting here to indicate how those products

should be matched with your Shopify account to avoid duplication.

This section explains the following fields:

  • Product Name in the Webstore

  • SKU in Webstore

  • While creating new products in QuickBooks, would you want to use name in

  • description?

  • Do you want to sync the hidden products in Shopify to QuickBooks?

Product Name in the Webstore

You can choose to either map the product names between the two applications or not to map them. The following options are available to you:

  • If you choose the product name to be mapped then, Pipemonk matches all the existing products from the Product field of QuickBooks provided that the name matches exactly with the product name in Shopify, else a new product is created.

  • In case of variants, the naming convention should to be in the format: Product Name-- Variant Name.

For example, if iPhone is a product name, and this product has variants like 8GB, 16GB and 32GB, then the variants should be recorded in QuickBooks as, iPhone -- 8GB, iPhone -- 16GB, iPhone -- 32GB so that duplicates of these variants are not created.

SKU in Webstore

SKU refers to the stock keeping unit identification number for the product. If you select this feature to be enabled, then Pipemonk will match all the existing products if Product name field in QuickBooks matches exactly with the SKU of the product (or variant) in Shopify, else a new product is created.

Note: If you choose SKU, ensure that all the products and variants in Shopify have unique SKU that matches exactly with the corresponding product in QuickBooks.

While creating new products in QuickBooks, would you want to use a name in a description?

You might feel that there is no need for the entire description of the product to be a part of QuickBooks and you would want to use the name itself for the description. This field will help you to set the configuration to enable the descriptions or to disable the same.

  • If you choose to enable this option, the description of the product in QuickBooks is filled with the name of the product in your Items list in Shopify.

  • If you choose to disable this option, the description of the product in QuickBooks is filled with the description of the product as is in Shopify.

Do you want to sync the hidden products in Shopify to QuickBooks?

Some of the products in Shopify could be hidden and you can choose whether to record these products in QuickBooks. Enable this option if you want to choose to record the hidden products.
